The Future Brite & Galaxy Electronic Metal Halide and HPS ballasts operate using electronic circuitry instead of steel & copper. The main advantage of this Electronic ballast is the energy savings using 5-12% less energy than magnetic HID ballasts. Electronic ballasts are also energy efficient with a 99.9% power factor. Electronic ballasts weigh significantly less than standard magnetic ballasts at just 5 - 14lbs depending on the wattage. Other features include soft starting which increases bulb life and reduces lumen depreciation, axial fan for excellent cooling and silent operation. These metal electronic ballasts include a detachable power cord and 15ft. or 25ft. lamp cord with socket assembly. These electronic lighting kits include everything you need: 120V/240V electronic ballast, 6ft. power cord, your choice of Metal Halide and HPS bulbs. The aquarium models include your choice of Ushio, Radium or Megachrome Metal Halide Aquarium Bulb and the Reef Optix 1 Pendant Reflector or Reef Optix 2 Retrofit Reflector.
