The Maristar Aquarium Light Kit now includes your choice of remote ballast. Choose from Sunlight Supply's new Dual 250W Galaxy Electronic Ballast OR Blue Wave 7 Dual 250W HQI ballast. The Galaxy electronic ballast features include: 5-12% energy savings and 99.9% power factor, constant wattage output, soft starting, quiet operation and lightweight at just 15lbs. The Blue Wave 7 Dual 250W HQI ballast features a cool wall separator, louvered end plates, key-way handle, back-lit on/off switch and rubber feet.

HQI Metal Halide bulb choices include: 10K, 14K, 20K German UHI-Ushio. We carry high quality German T5HO bulbs for all Maristar Kits including Actinic, Pure Actinic, Midday 6K or Aquablue Plus from Giesemann Powerchrome. The Maristar reflector features the Reef Optix and Tek T5 reflectors made of 95% German aluminum for maximum output and optimal light balance. The Maristar T5/HQI system also fatures separate bulb and power cords for independent bulb control.
