Optimal
Grow Lighting
The best lighting option for plant growth
is to use a light system that combines both the
blue spectrum needed for plant growth and the
red/orange spectrum needed for budding and flowering.
To accomplish this you could use any of the following
grow light systems:
Fluorescent
T5 Fixture - has a mixture of bulbs - 6500K
(Blue) &
3000K (Red)
Dual
Lamp Grow Light - uses both a HPS (Red) and Metal
Halide (Blue) Bulb
Switchable
System - allows switching between MH & HPS
during different stages growth
Conversion
Bulb - convert an existing HID light to
MH or HPS by using a conversion bulb
Dual Super Spectrum Grow Lights
Dual
spectrum grow lights run both an HPS & Metal
Halide lamp simultaneously combining the blue spectrum
of metal halide and the red spectrum
of high pressure sodium for true full spectrum lighting.
Dual spectrum grow lights are available in 500 (250W
MH & 250W HPS), 800 (400W MH & 400W HPS) and 1000
Watts (400W MH & 600W HPS). All
The Super Spectrum grow lights includes everything
you need:
HPS Bulb &
Super Metal Halide Bulb, Dual Remote Ballast,
Super Spectrum Reflector, lamp cords, socket assemblies & power
cords. Optional air cooled fittings are also available. You
can purchase complete dual spectrum grow lights & ballasts
here.
Switchable Ballast
Grow Lights
Switchable
light ballast grow lights allow using
either a metal halide or a high pressure sodium
lamp. To change from one type of lamp to the
other, insert the appropriate lamp and set
the switch. This enables growers to use the
proper spectrums for vegetable growth (MH)
and flowering (HPS) with a simple to use switch.
These switchable grow lights include everything you
needs including HPS Bulb, Metal Halide Bulb, Sun System
VI or X Switchable Ballast, Reflector, lamp cord,
socket assembly and power cord. You
can purchase a complete switchable ballast
grow lights here.
Conversion
Bulbs
Conversion Lamps allow using existing
lighting systems (MH or HPS) to minimize conversion
costs. HPS conversion lamps run on a Metal
Halide system and converts it to HPS allowing the Metal
Halide ballast to produce the red HPS spectrum
that promotes flowering. Metal Halide conversion
lamps use existing HPS
lighting systems and converts
HPS to Metal Halide allowing the HPS ballast
to produce the blue spectrum that promotes plant
growth. This type of lamp allows you to tailor
the light source to the growth stage of the plant
(again, using halide blue light for growth and
sodium red light for flowering/budding) merely
by changing lamps.
High
Pressure Sodium Conversion Lamps (run on halide ballasts)
Metal
Halide Conversion Lamps (run on HPS ballasts)
